Wytheville VA – Friday

We arrived in Wytheville yesterday and today is RACE DAY!!!  We got back down to Bristol around 3:00 and were in time to watch the last of the qualifying for the Nationwide Race and all of the qualifying for the Sprint Cup Race.  About 10 mins. after qualifying was done, the rains came!  We all ran for cover and 15 mins. later it was all over.  The dryers came out on the track and the race finally started around 9:00 pm.  The Bristol track is a .5 mile (same size as our old Mesa Marin track) and it is so cool to be able to see the whole track.  It looks pretty crowded when you get 40 race cars on it and that sound of roaring engines is truly awesome!  The rains held off and all 250 laps were run with Ryan Blaney beating out Kyle Busch at the very end.  Seeing a race here at Bristol is an experience not to be forgotten!  Parking was in nearby fields, farms, back yards, front yards.  We had to walk a little bit to get to the speedway.
